Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how MoonDust ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on moondustusa.com (the "Site"), what they do, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more broadly.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is being used.

We also use related technologies that work in a similar way, including:

  • Pixels and web beacons β€” small pieces of code embedded in pages or emails that record whether content was viewed.
  • Local storage β€” browser storage used to hold information such as cart contents between visits.
  • Software development kits and scripts β€” code supplied by third-party providers that runs on the Site.

In this Policy, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies."

2. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set by MoonDust or by Shopify, the ecommerce platform that hosts the Site. Third-party cookies are set by other companies whose services we use, such as analytics and security providers. We do not control third-party cookies, and their use of the data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They enable core functions such as maintaining your session, remembering the contents of your cart, processing checkout, load balancing, and protecting against fraud and abuse. Without them, parts of the Site will not work. These include cookies set by Shopify and by our bot-protection provider, hCaptcha.

Performance and analytics cookies

These help us understand how visitors find and use the Site β€” which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, which links are clicked, and where errors occur. We use this to improve navigation, page content, and product discovery. Providers in this category may include Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. Some of these tools record general interaction patterns such as scrolling and clicks.

Functional cookies

These remember choices you make and provide enhanced features. Examples include remembering your region or currency, keeping you signed in, retaining form entries between steps, and enabling embedded features such as product reviews or messaging widgets.

Marketing and advertising cookies

These may be set through the Site by advertising and marketing partners to build a profile of your interests, measure campaign performance, and show you relevant advertising on other sites. They may be used by platforms including Google and social or professional networks where we advertise. If we do not run advertising at a given time, these cookies may not be active.

4. How Long Cookies Last

  • Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them, so the Site can recognize you on a return visit. Retention periods vary by cookie and provider, commonly from a few days to two years.

5. Your Choices

Cookie banner and preferences

Where required by law, we present a cookie banner on your first visit that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the Site, or by using any cookie preferences link provided on the Site.

Browser controls

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Instructions are available in the help documentation for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Note that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, will prevent parts of the Site from working β€” including the cart and checkout.

Analytics and advertising opt-outs

  • Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics measurement.
  • Industry opt-out tools are available through the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative, and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.
  • Mobile devices offer settings to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier.

Opting out stops interest-based targeting; it does not stop you seeing advertising altogether.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where required by applicable law, we treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Browsers may also send a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common industry standard for interpreting it, we do not currently respond to Do Not Track.

6. Cookies and Personal Information

Some cookies collect information that may be considered personal information under applicable law, such as an online identifier, IP address, or device information. Where that is the case, our handling of that information is described in our Privacy Policy, including the rights you may have to access, delete, or opt out of its use.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our Site, our providers, or applicable law changes. The revised version takes effect when posted to this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
